You’re a dude. This…this is a man. Happiest of birthdays, Chris Hemsworth!

Oh, what a long way we’ve come since Thor was first released. Six movies, a haircut and an artificial eyeball later, Thor has evolved from the golden Prince of Asgard to the truly mighty God of Thunder whose wrath you definitely do not want to incur. Although, after Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok and Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War, we think Thor might just win the vote for “Most Likely To Be A Stand-Up Comedian” among the Avengers.

So, to celebrate Chris Hemsworth’s birthday – and after long, careful consideration on our part – we rounded up our 12 favourite Thor moments of all time. It’s a good mix bag of goofy to just good ol’ glorious. What’s your favourite?

1. “This drink, I like it! Another!”

We’ve all had good food, but Thor’s display of appreciation for good food surpasses us all.

2. “I’d rather be a good man than a great king.”

Goodness over glory. It is a piece of wisdom that applies to everyone, not just kings.

3. “Yes, thank you for the commentary, Loki. It is not at all distracting.”

Thor’s penchant for sarcasm even in times of crisis is not to be ignored.

4. “Hey, hey! We know each other! He’s a friend from work!”

The joy and relief on Thor’s face, and the accuracy behind the phrase – Hulk is technically Thor’s friend from work – makes it all the more comedic.

5. “I’ve got lots of muscles, so technically more brain!”

You do you, Thor. You do you!

6. “Yeah, it’s called the…uh…Revengers!”

Props for originality, Thor!

7. “Get help! Please! My brother is dying! Get help! Help him!”

This scene makes us wonder just how many times and under what other circumstances did the two brothers use “Get Help” to get out of trouble.

8. “There was one time when we were children, he transformed himself into a snake, and he knows that I love snakes. So, I went to pick up the snake to admire it and he transformed back into himself and he was like, “Yeah, it’s me!”. And he stabbed me. We were eight at the time.

Even the God of Thunder falls prey to sibling pranks from time to time. The fact that he says it without taking a breather just doubles the hilarity.

9. “I choose to run towards my problems, and not away from them.”

Thor says this to Valkyrie to convince her to join his cause, but it is still very good advice that we can use in everyday life, whether you have lightning running through your veins or not.

10. “You’re a dude. This…this is a man.”

Thanks to Drax’s own brand of comedy, we have not just one of Thor’s greatest moments, but one of the greatest Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War moments, period – and Thor isn’t even awake for it.

11. “Thank you, sweet rabbit.”

Thor says this to Rocket after the raccoon gives him an artificial eye. Not even the threat of half the universe disappearing can dampen Thor’s good manners – even if he should have washed the eye first.

12. “Bring me Thanos!”

We saved the best for last. That entire sequence of Thor landing in Wakanda, then charging straight into the Thanos’ army before taking to a sky of blue lightning? SPECTACULAR.
