EVERYTHING HAPPENING AT “DISNEY CELEBRATE THE MAGIC” AT PAVILION KUALA LUMPUR THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS
By Oh My Disney
How does a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree that features 1,000 Mickey figurines sound?
Magic is certainly in the air at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and having seen the spectacle for ourselves, we have to say that we’re still giddy from the celebrations! Called “Disney Celebrate the Magic”, the event kicked off with a full day of celebrations last weekend with a special birthday surprise for Mickey alongside the Club Mickey Mouse Mouseketeers, the Project Mickey runway show and a whole day of meet-and-greet sessions with the birthday guy.
The party may be over, but the festivities continue. Grab the camera and grab the shopping cart, because there’s still plenty more to see and do. These are our top picks from “Disney Celebrate the Magic”!
#1:
The Christmas Tree Featuring 1,000 Mickey Figurines
The Yuletide festivities have begun at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur where Christmas trees abound, but the 1,000 Mickey Figurine Christmas Tree eclipses them all. Standing at 18 feet tall, it features Mickey figurines that have been customised by everyday Malaysians – including the Club Mickey Mouse Mouseketeers!
#2:
The “Mickey Go Local” Figurine Showcase
To mark Mickey’s 90th anniversary, 100 2-feet Mickey figurines were given a makeover by a bevy of notable Malaysians and brands. These include fashion designers Dato’ Bernard Chandran and Beatrice Looi, and brands Chopard, Pandora, MAC and Swarovski. The Swarovski figurine is covered in 50,000 sparkling crystals, so make sure you don’t miss this one.
#3:
The 3-Feet LEGO Mickey Figurine
It took 7,262 LEGO bricks and over 45 hours to create! The figurine is also the first of its kind in Southeast Asia – and there it is, right there at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Truly special, wouldn’t you agree?
#4:
The Giant Gift Boxes (That Are Also Photo Spots!)
There are countless photo spots at “Disney Celebrate the Magic”, but if you’re looking for the perfect spot for your next Boomerang, try the golden gift box complete with twinkling lights, or the giant red gift box with gold Mickey-shaped “balloons” flying out of it.
#5:
The Exclusive “Mickey Go Local” Collection
You’ve seen the look book, now shop the quirky “Mickey Go Local” t-shirts and so much more at the pop-up store right behind the main stage. Expect pouches, bottle, stationery, the fluffiest of cushions and so much more, all complete with a touch of that good old Malaysian flavour.
#6:
The “Mickey True Original” Merchandise
Before you go, be sure to pick up some limited edition 90th anniversary merch from the pop-up store. These go from gorgeously-crafted pieces from Royal Selangor to Mickey plushies with “90 Years” embroidered on them. Let’s just say we got a little too carried away with the shopping…

There’s So Much More To Come
The decorations will continue to stay on all through the rest of the year with surprises being added to them as we inch closer to Christmas. Think spectacular nightly light shows, a Disney Frozen snow globe, more beautiful trees and…well, we’re not going to give it all away! You’ll just have to see it for yourself.
